Free Interactive Display
ANTIFURNITURE
A free display created by performance artist Fyodor Pavlov-Andreevich will see a collection of wooden furniture spread throughout the museum. Climb, hide within, and temporarily inhabit these sculptures to create your own experience of ANTIFURNITURE.
Discover how performance artist Fyodor Pavlov-Andreevich challenges our understanding of furniture design in this playful display that invites visitors to interact with various wooden sculptures dispersed inside and outside the museum.
From 26 September, ANTIFURNITURE will be displayed in our atrium, mezzanine and museum grounds where visitors will be able to climb into a hammock, try out a rocking desk, or scale a ladder.
This collection (co-designed by the artist, BoND Architecture and Olga Treivas, fabricated by Oficina São João in Brazil) is designed to inspire imagination, creating a piece of personal theatre for the users.
This is a free display and you don't need to book a ticket.
The museum is open every day including bank holidays.
Visiting hours are:
10:00 – 17:00 Mondays to Thursdays
10:00 – 18:00 Fridays to Sundays
From 16 September, open until 21:00 on Saturdays.
